My photography is about capturing connection; the small moments in life, an individual’s inner being, a person's identity, light and shadow, and natural emotions. I aim to capture and create a tangible feeling to which the viewer can relate. I want my subjects to be comfortable or unaware of the camera’s presence. This allows me the greatest freedom in creating a discernible connection between subject and viewer. I edit my photos very little, only optimizing them so that they stay true to the moment. I want to guide people to see all the wonderful and powerful strings that tie us all together. Being able to form relationships with people and objects is a great gift. We want to feel relation with, connection to, and bonds between ourselves and other creatures. This desire is part of what makes us human. I aim to create bonds and ties to the viewer’s heart, mind, and soul.
